How much is that issue worth?

I love comics!

I really, really love comics.  Most people I know don't love them in the same way I do.  Actually, most people I know and have heard from think that comics are just little toys for little kids.  Worse yet, since they think as them as expensive toys that you have to READ it makes them lousy gifts!

At this point you can always go into what make comics good or bad, are they worth the money?

My little nugget of passion goes down to one thing that I used to do as a kid and once I learned how to do it, never stopped:  Living out all the adventures I know I can never live out here in this sad world.

I don't want to sound deprressing, neither do I want to paint this as escapisim.  Turn it around and imagine the moon!  Do you want to go there?  I do.  Any kid will too!  Why?  Because its a human part about us that like to explore!  Love to see new things.

Heard of Pokemon?  Why is it so addicting?  I'll tell you why.  You as a kid get to explore, and meet many wondrous creatures that you know are out there somewhere!  A kid can't go out exploring without consequences in this world, is that bad?  No, but they still want to go run around doing all these great things, living great adventures!

I do too!

Comics offer a "safe" way to go to the moon, meet magical creatures, fight the good fight, and more than anything, discover another world full of friends that always welcome you.  Anything can happen in a comic book!  No budgets like in the movies, no one saying "you can't have this, its not real", no one saying "no one will believe this"!  Remember, ANYTHING is real simply because it can!  If you read comics, you know that there are worlds that although fantastical always feel real.

Wouldn't you like to explore the savage land?  Don't get that mention?  Then re-phrase it into Jurassic Park.  Would you like to go there and explore?  How about Skypea?  Meet rubber pirates with hearts of gold, find atlantis with its cocky prince?  What is the 30th century and who are its super heroes?  Did you know they even got to know about Superman?

If you do, pick up a comic.  Its the one thing that everyone can share.  It sure beats our children sharing drugs, violence, sex.  You don't need any of those vices when you have something as great as comics.  Wouldn't that make our new generations all the better for it?

All of it because Spidey was having a bad day...

But guess what?

It's a Brand New Day!
